Chatfield: A community in northeast Navarro County, Texas, that prides itself on its rich history.

It truly is a unique community in the history of Texas.  People who have called Chatfield home and events occurring here have shaped the destiny of this state and nation. Through these pages, you will read about this story.

One day, you may decide to visit. Here you will find homes and farms dating from the 19th and early 20th centuries, when cotton, corn, wheat, oats, and livestock made it the envy of the county. Its residents also appreciate the gently rolling Blackland Prairie vistas interspersed with majestic oaks and pecans. On any visit, you can stroll through its two cemeteries, among the most historic in this section of the state, containing graves of soldiers from the War of 1812 forward – and even a signer of the Texas Ordinance of Secession. Numerous historical markers commemorate people and events of importance to the history of Texas.
